Kristin Mullen is a Texas-based interior designer, blogger and shop owner of Curated by Kristin Mullen in Snider Plaza. Her style is undoubtedly traditional with a twist – a balancing act of American, Eurasian, vintage and modern, clean-lined, yet comfortable.
Kristin Mullen Designs, formerly known as Covetable Designs, has culminated with Kristin’s passion for interior design and is nourished by her innate ability to create incomparably beautiful surroundings for her clients. Each of her design spaces erases the chaos of the outside world and creates tranquil, livable settings where clients can relax and be themselves. She loves to meld disparate elements, blending antiques and quality reproductions with flea market finds and family treasures for a magical mix.
The same will be true for the artfully gathered, impeccably designed vignettes featured in the new store, Curated by Kristin Mullen. With a fresh take on architectural trends, every piece featured in the 800-square-foot space is hand-selected or designed by Kristin, and the vast majority is unavailable anywhere else. To keep things interesting and fresh, she plans to rotate merchandise quarterly, restaging the shop each season with a different theme. Kristin’s goal is to share antique finds and special treasures once only available to design clients to the public.
Kristin has been privileged to work on dozens of homes over the years, including: a Pre-War apartment in Switzerland; an historic home in Greenway Parks; an A. Hays Town inspired home and a Greek Revival farmhouse. Her work has been featured in Beautiful Kitchen and Baths (Kitchen, June 2010) (Bath, January 2011), The Dallas Scout Guide (Volumes 5 and 6) and she has been recognized by PaperCity at the 2017 PaperCity Design Awards. She recently completed a casually eclectic second-home for a client in Palm Springs, a grand-scale Dallas estate with traditional Neoclassic splendor, and a modern Mediterranean style kitchen in Highland Park, TX. Kristin finds involvement in the community an important aspect in her life and has served on numerous boards, including Junior League of Short Hills, ARC of Dallas and St. Mark’s School of Texas.
Kristin takes her hectic but artful life in stride. Surrounded by her husband, four children and two loyal family dogs, Kristin can sink into a comfortable chair in any room of her airy home and feel like she’s on vacation – even if it’s only for a five-minute break. Kristin knows inspiration is always just around the corner, and she wants to be ready.
